Admissions

Quarterly Scheduling

Christos Institute operates on a standard ten-week quarterly academic calendar with one additional week for examinations.

  • Fall Quarter is scheduled from Mid-September until the first week of December;

  • Winter Quarter begins the first week of January and concludes the middle of March;

  • Spring Quarter begins the last week of March and concludes the second week of June.

  • Summer Quarter begins the third week of June and concludes the middle of August.

Admissions Requirements

Christos Institute’s mission is to prepare leaders for full-time ministry as well as provide personal enrichment opportunities for those in non-ordination ministries. To fulfill this mission, Christos Institute seeks students with a strong commitment to Jesus Christ and a fruit bearing lifestyle that consistently reflects the teaching s of Scripture.

A prospective student is assessed according to moral behavior and character and the appreciation for the goals and policies of the mission and vision of Christos Institute. Additionally, students are required to submit a Letter of Recommendation from their pastor or organization director at time of registration.

While graduation from a high school is not required for admission, it is expected the student will produce academic work that reflects proper understanding of the English language and English composition

(or Spanish language and Spanish composition for courses offered in Spanish).

Application Procedures

Students may apply for any quarter in the academic year- Fall, Winter, Spring, or Summer. Applications are reviewed when the following items have been received:

  1. The application form supplied by the Admissions Office must be completed in its entirety.

  2. A non-refundable application fee must be submitted.

Acceptance of Admissions

A decision is made within one week of receipt of completed application and required application fee. The applicant is notified by mail of the decision as well as a follow-up phone call at the contact number given on the application.

Admission Categories

Upon acceptance to the Institute, the student is granted regular admission. The following status may also be applied according to academic standing:

Probationary: A student with this status has not met the normal academic/ institutional criteria (receiving low or failing grades/ academic discipline). The student is given a specific time frame in which to improve their academic standing. Failure to do so will result in dismissal.

Transfer of Credit

To fulfill the specific program goals, mission, and vision of Christos Institute for its student body, the Institute limits the transfer of academic work completed outside its program. Transcripts from other schools will be reviewed by the registrar and student will be notified of any credits/units accepted for transfer.

Proficiency Test

Proficiency tests are not required for admission. Christos Institute programs and curriculum are designed to take the new believer through Certificate and Diploma levels of Bible and Ministry studies.

Continuous Enrollment

To better assist students in completing their respective two or four year program of study, the Institute requires continuous enrollment. Failure to maintain continuous status voids the admission status and will require the student to reapply to the Institute. Requests for leaves of absences must be submitted in writing to the Academic Dean.

Concurrent Studies

Students are welcome to take courses concurrently at other institutions. However, students are cautioned to gauge their course load to avoid overload.

Re- Admissions

Re-admittance to the Institute requires a written request by the applicant to the Academic Dean. Once approved, the Academic Dean will clear the applicant with Admissions. Applicant must then complete a new application and submit the application fee. The Institute is not required to re-admit any student.

Catalog Requirements

Students admitted to Christos Institute are subject to the catalog in current use at the time of their initial enrollment. Students remain under the provisions of the catalog as long as they maintain continuous enrollment.

Student Responsibility

The student is responsible for knowing and understanding the academic policies related to his or her program.
